Copy of a map of the area around Sachuest Beach (Second Beach) in Middletown, based on drawing by John Mumford in 1716. Notation on map reads: "A Plot taken from one Drawn by John Mumford July 26 1716 and as there was no Courses Set Down I have indeavored [sic] to find them as near I can October 1771 John Barker Surveyor" Notation below map indicates that this particular copy of was redrawn by Albert L. Chase, Town Clerk of Middletown, in 1877. Map illustrates "the South part of Sachuest Beach," Purgatory Rock, "the Towns Right of Beach," Henry Tew's House, Henry Tew's Marsh, and adjacent property lines.
