Description
Landscape scene depicting two young children in the foreground playing with geese and butterflies in a field. Cows lay on the left side. The middle ground depicts the Old Stone Mill with a man standing in its shadow. The background shows Newport Harbor with ships docked; one sails further in the distance under a vast cloudy sky. 

Has the inscription, "The Old Stone Mill Newport, Rhode Island Popularly supposed to be a viking tower, but possibly the 'Stone-built Windmill' of Governor Benedict Arnold, ca. 1677."
