Small silver circular medal that reads, "Life Saving Benevolent Association of New York Incorporated March 29 1824" Back reads, "Vita Felicibus Ausis Servata./ Presented to Miss Ida Lewis as a testimonial of her skill, courage and humanity in rescuing two men from drowning in the harbor of Newport, RI during a severe storm on the 30th March, 1869." Front has a ship depicted in a torrent of waves, the shore, and a relief station.
