The balance was paid off by both men: For William, 16 pounds was loaned to him by Champlin in February 1768 and he paid that debt off in two installments, one on May 2 1769 (8 pounds) and one on July 29 1769 (8 pounds). For Thomas Ephraim, 26 pounds 16 shillings was loaned to him on March 18 1768 for a thick cap, cash, a knife and linen, among other illegible things. He paid this back on October 26 1768 and February 7, 1770.
