DescriptionMinutes from an annual meeting of the African Union Society held in Newport at the house of Arthur Tikey on August 12, 1790, at which the Society chose the following officers to serve for the year: Anthony Taylor as President, Charles Chaloner as Vice President and Committee member, Arthur Tikey as Judge and Treasurer, Robert Keith as Sheriff, Caesar Lyndon as Secretary, and Pompey Scott, Lymas Keith, Zingo Stevens, Abraham Casey, and Richard Vickey as the other five committeemen.
