DescriptionMinutes from a meeting of the African Humane Society convened at the house of Cuffee Mumford on May 10, 1804. Abraham Casey was fined for his absence. Wanton was moderator pro tempore. As nothing came before the Society after the contribution was collected, they adjourned until the next meeting. Present at the meeting: Newport Gardner, Cudjo Gibbs, Ceasar Wanton, Cuffee Mumford, and Zingo Stevens. Absent: Charles Chaloner, Abraham Casey, Quarm Bowers, Ceasar Gardner, Cuffee Benson, Prince Gardner, John Davice, Charles Chaloner Jr., and Cudjo Hicks.
