DescriptionMinutes from an annual meeting of the African Union Society convened at the house of Abraham Casey on August 13, 1801. Charles Chaloner resigned the office of president due to infirmity, and the Society voted unanimously to offer their thanks for his service. At the meeting, the Society elected new officers. Present: Zingo Stevens (President), Ceasar Gardner (Vice President), Cudjo Gibbs (Treasurer), Newport Gardner (Secretary), Abraham Casey (1st Committeeman), Ceasar Wanton (2nd Committeeman), Cuffee Mumford (3rd Committeeman), and Charles Chaloner. Absent: Quam Bowers (Sheriff), Cuffee Benson, Prince Gardner, John Davice, and Charles Chaloner Jr.
