Minutes from a meeting of the African Union Society on April 13, 1797, at which the Society voted that during stormy weather meetings will be adjourned to the next fair day, expecting Saturday and Sunday. Minutes note that Ceasar Gardiner and George Fairwhether appeared at the meeting to hear the Society’s Articles and consider joining. Minutes also include a list of contributions collected during the meeting. Present at the meeting: Abraham Casey, Cudjo Gibbs, Prince Lillibridge, Newport Easton, and Newport Gardner. Absent: Charles Chaloner, Pompey Scott, Zingo Stevens, Quam Bowers, Robert Keith, and Cuffee Benson.
