Scope and Content
Series comprises of letters and academic records. The majority of the of the correspondences are letters between siblings Helen Rhinelander Cameron and Thomas Newbold Rhinelander. Within the letters the family discusses domestic and business matters, and other family names that are mentioned are Newbold, King, Jones, and Edgars. Highlights include Helen's illustrated letters, such as dinner party seating arrangements. Letters to Thomas also describe childhood activities in New York and Newport, such as attending parties and playing games with friends and cousins such as Edith "Pussy" Jones, later Edith Wharton. Letters also discuss attending theater productions at Madison Square by the actor Edwin Booth (brother of John Wilkes Booth) and refusing to attend the wedding of Theodore Roosevelt due to heavy rain.
