Description
Minutes from a special meeting of the African Union Society on September 2, 1790, held at the house of Pompey Scott at which the Society (1) ordered that all Committeemen pay a fine of 9 pence if they do not appear by a quarter of an hour after 7 o'clock unless they have a suitable excuse; (2) agreed that if any member of the Society fails or refuses to attend a quarterly meeting, he will lose his right to the Treasury and only his wife or heirs can inherit his right after he dies unless a majority of the members vote otherwise; and (3) ordered the sheriff to find a "Book respecting the settlement of Whites & Blacks at Sierlona [sic] at the Coast of Affrica [sic]."
